Making Tag Question

Some Notes:-

• Present Tense এ Subject 3^rd Person singular number হলে Verb এর সাথে s/es যোগ হয়।
• Auxiliary verb এর পর Modal Auxiliary Verb থাকলে তা Main Verb হিসেবে কাজ করে।
• Modal Auxiliary Verb কখনো একা বসে না তার সাথে সব সময় Main Verb থাকে আবার কিছু Modal Auxiliary verb এর পর Main verb না থাকলে তা নিজেই Main Verb এর কাজ করে(need)।
• Do/Does/Did একা থাকলে তা Main Verb এর কাজ করে।
• শুধুমাত্র 3^rd Person Singular number এর সাথে s/es যুক্ত শব্দ বা has/is/was/does বসে।
• They আগে কোনো সময় Does বসে না Doবসে।
• কোনো Sentence এ Article + verb থাকলে তা Noun হিসেবে কাজ করে।
• Sentence এ Not / Negative word থাকলে Tag Question e Auxiliary verb এর সাথে n't হবে না অন্যথায় n't হবে।
• Sentence এর শুরুতে Main Verb/Let থাকলে Imperative sentence হয়। মাঝেমাধ্যে Main Verb এর আগে Adverb থাকতে পারে।
• That's = That is/was
• 'd + V₁ = Would/Could/Should
• 'd + V₃ = Had

Rules:-

• Happy birthday/Good morning/Good afternoon to you ইত্যাদি দ্বারা wish করলে don't I? বসে।

  Eample:

  • Good Night to you,don't I?


• with, along with, together with,and not, as well as, accompinied by এবং preposition এর আগে অথবা পরে ২টি subject থাকলে ১য় subject অনুযায়ী pronoun বসবে।

  Example:

  • Siam as well as they is present, isn't he?


• And/ if/ unless/ wheather/ or/ but/ who/ which/ that (W.H. word) / though/ although/ till/ untill/ as/ since/ when/ as soon as/ as long as Subordinating conjunction ইত্যাদি যুক্ত অংশের Tag Question করতে হয় না।

  Example:

  • The man who came to me is my brother, isn't he?


• And যুক্ত sentence এ ২টি principle clause থাকলে যেকোনো একটির Tag Question করলেই হয়।

  Example:

  • The girl was beautiful and I loved her,wasn't she?
  • The girl was beautiful and I loved her,didn't I?


• The + noun যদি subject হয় তবে Tag Question এ pronoun হিসেবে সব সময় they বসে।

  Example:

  • The boy had the opportunity, hadn't they?


• Imperative sentence এর tag Question করলে will you?/ won't you? হয়। শুধুমাত্র let's/Let us দিয়ে sentence শুরু হলে shall we? হয়।

  Example:

  • Let's be sincere in our life, shall we?
  • Don't believe it, will you?


• Every,no,some,who,all,any ইত্যাদি যুক্ত শব্দের পরিবর্তে they বসে। যেকনো thing এর পরিবর্তে it বসে এবং things এর পরিবর্তে they বসে।

  Example:

  • Every mother loves her child, don't they?


• "(Word)" + is a + noun/pronoun/verb হলে Tag Question হবে isn't it?

  Example:

  • "You" is a pronoun, isn't it?
  • "Siam" is a noun, isn't it?


• How + Adjective হলে Tag Question হবে isn't it?

  Example:

  • How good,isn't it?
  • How strange,isn't it?


• Every,no,some,who,all,any ইত্যাদির পর Objective pronoun থাকলে Tag Question এ Pronoun হিসেবে they এর পরিবর্তে objective pronoun অনুযায়ী pronoun বসবে।
  • Us থাকলে We
  • Them থাকলে They
  • Her থাকলে He/She

  Example:

  • Everyone of us is helpful, aren't we?
